My Dear Mother,
Since I last wrote I have travelled considerably and am now in the 12th Canadian Machine Gun Company. I haven't been up to the line yet but may go anytime. The wind here is something awful but they seem to be pushing Fritz back, slowly but surely. They should be anyway because there are an awful lot of guns going off all around us. They'll keep it up all day and night and don't give you much chance to sleep.
I haven't seen Brock yet because his division isn't

here. We expect them along to relieve up in a couple of days.
I haven't had any mail from home for quite a while but now that I am attached to a company the mail will be more regular. How are the Thorntons getting along with all their motor cars?
How is Faith and the baby and the rest of the Chisholm family?
That will be all for this time. I didn't get a chance to write any sooner or I would have done so.

With love to all,
Melville.
P.S: My address will be 12th Canadian M.G. Co'y, B. E. F., France.
