Dear Gordon:-

Rec'd your post- card yesterday and we were all very much surprised to hear you had at last joined the Army and I suppose you are quite proud of yourself to think you are at last going to fight the Germans, and we feel proud too, to think we will have a relative going to fight. Although we of course would rather not see anyone go.

I am sending the Balaclava Cap and hope you find some use for it, but if you already have one you can pass it along to one of your Pals.
Now I hope you will write me again and let me know how you like being a soldier and how it agrees with you.

Roy and his family were here for dinner tonight and have just gone home. Jack and Gerry are certainly two great boys. I think Gerry will be a Hockey Player to beat his Dad.

We had a fierce snow storm last night and it has kept it up all day and it is fierce out now. All the snow ploughs in town are out to- day.

Well Cousin Doffie I must ring- off now so Good- bye for now and please write if you can find time. Loads of Love, your Cousin.

Grace
