My Dear Mother,
This is Saturday and I'm just in the middle of moving again. The Machine Gun Depot is moving to Seaford Camp, between Brighton and Eastbourne, two of the best seaside places on the South coast. Seaford itself is on the coast so should be a good place. Number 3 Co'y goes tomorrow morning as an advance guard so we're spending the day packing up. There hasn't been a Canadian mail for about a week but I had

a letter from Mrs. McIntyre yesterday. I've finished up my machine Gun course and bombing course and expect to go on pass next Monday. Mrs. McIntyre wants me to go up to Edinburgh again when I get a pass from France. There isn't anything to write about but I couldn't let Monday go past without writing a letter because I've not missed writing home twice a week yet.
Love to all,
Melville.
My address will be just the same, only Seaford instead of Crowborough.

I just got your letter dated June 26th and had to break this letter open to put some more in. I got the cable allright but didn't get the money until yesterday. I wasn't a bit surprised to get a pound extra but didn't really need it. I won't need to send home for any more because I will soon have a balance in my paybook that I'll be able to draw on anytime I'm broke. My letters and boxes seem to be coming pretty regularly now and I get the Oakville paper every once in a while.
