Summary:
Rufus writes to Melville from their home in Georgetown. They talks about their friend, Dorothy, and teases Melville about if the war hospital has any pretty nurses. They mentions plans to go into Toronto to see Dorothy, as well as the fact that a mutual friend, Howard French, has a new girlfriend. They hope that Melville recovers soon from a nasty bout of pleurisy.

Mar. 25, 1917
Dear Porky:
Am so sorry to hear that you have been sick again. Are you sure there isn't a cute little nurse in that hospital? Dorothy seems to think there is. Have you seen or heard of Dorothy lately? I haven't and she is getting rather peeved so I guess I will meet her next Saturday

and go to a show. She has a birthday early in April and I promised I would do anything she wanted then. She and Brock seem to have gotten chummy again. I don't care what you say, I think that Brock likes her better than any of the numerous girls you say he went with. However, the aviator has first place.
You know out town hall? Well it has been all fixed over, re-decorated, new scenery and a new hard wood floor. Think of it? We hold out first dance on the first Friday after Good Friday. Mother says

I can't go because I won't start back to Sunday school but she wouldn't have the heart to stop me where I have a brand new dress.
I suppose you are going over seas very soon now. We expect last leave next week. I am dreading it because I know we will have a hard time with one another although I don't think she will cut up the way the woman across the road did. I suppose you boys are dreading it too. I do hope I will see you before you go.
I am still going to school

in Toronto. There are four of us going and we get in at 11:15 and leave at 3:45. Some short day, eh what? Of course I stay over about one night a week.
I suppose you know that Howard has a new girl. She is a schoolteacher in "Limehouse" with a capital "L" and she comes from Kitchener. Dorothy was home about two weeks ago & we took a bunch of dandy snaps. Will send you some when I have more made off.
I will send this to Oakville. I hope you are able to be out in this great weather.
