Dear Mother,
Here it is Sunday again. You will all be having dinner just about now and here I am in an old Frenchman's barn, sitting in the straw and writing letters by the light of a candle. It isn't as cold to-day as it

has been so I can write in comparative comfort. Our bunch is still on rest and we don't expect to move for a week at least. We expect to be in the line again for Christmas.
The weather last week was quite changeable. We had two or three days of real cold

weather and then it turned warm and started to rain.
We had three or four inspections last week finishing up with one by General Currie. Thank goodness! All the inspections are over for a while. This morning I cast my vote for the Union Government. Most of our section is for the Union

Government but there are a great many others not in favour of it.
We only have parades here in the morning and have the afternoon for ourselves. There is a picture show about 3 kilos away and sometimes I go down and see it. Two or three days

every week they have a concert party which is always very good. We don't have such a bad time except for being cold nearly all the time.
I guess that's all I can say this time, so will close.

I forgot to say that I got a box today from the 164th Auxiliary and one from you. The sweater is fine and I just needed one of those sleeping caps.
