Dear Father,
Since I last wrote home I have had a letter from Ed, dated Oct. 21 one from Mother dated Oct. 22nd and one from you dated Oct. 23rd.
The elections will soon be coming off. We expect to vote in a few days and I certainly will vote for the union government but I am afraid that there are quite a few over here that

will not vote for conscription. I think it will be the people in Canada that will carry conscription if it is carried at all.
By Ed's letter I see that he is having a pretty busy time. He is right in not letting his boss put anything over on him. I was glad to hear that Brock had got the M.C. He has been out here a long time and I am sure he deserved it. I haven't seen him yet but wrote a few days

ago and told him where I was. I haven't heard from him for quite a while but expect him to surprise me some day soon.
We are still on rest and expect to be for some time.
There is nothing much to write about so I will have to close.
