Dear Gordon

I just wanted to say that if you intend to join our McGill Company, you had better get it fixed up as soon as possible. We are nearly at full strength now, & if you write me soon, before recruiting stops I'll speak to the Captain. This is the only way we can get together, because members of the 38th cannot get transferred as privates, & I don't expect to be anything else in this world.

Hurry & notify me.

Yours truly

C. W. Snyder
